that I would be blessed for abiding by the rule. This is one circumstance when I don't know why the rule exists but must
abide by it in obedience if I want to prepare myself to serve the Lord as He desires. I'm really glad I mentioned it to Bruder Wolferts, for now I'm doubly committed. With the Lord and him on my side, I can't fail.
We had Sunday School at 9:15. The opening exercises were
in German, but the class taught by Brother Buchanan was in
English. It was a beautiful lesson on charity and the Lord's
love for us. After a few minutes of break, we moved right
into Fast and Testimony Meeting. It was all in German,
but I could understand many of the testimonies that were
born[e]. I still can't understand much of the songs. My dear
companion bore a beautiful testimony auf Deutsch. We
weren't able to have a very long meeting because they needed to get the room ready for dinner. It's been a special
to be able to fast this day. My companion is still fasting - I
ate dinner with others. We new missionaries had a meeting
with Brother Wolferts. He challenged us to have a change in
heart so we could do the work right.
We left late, I mean we arrived late, for a mission sisters'
meeting at Allen Hall. I was really tired and had a hard
time staying awake. Then we went late to our culture
class. Before I went in, Brother Wolperts wanted me to see
him. I had a beautiful time talking with him. I told him
how excited I was about being here and learning German. I
told him I was really glad to be Sis. Rick[s]'s companion,
especially because she is so conscientious about speaking
German always. As I mentioned earlier, I also told him
