Italian, Portuguese, and Afrikaans. We take turns every other week eating on early and late schedules (i.e., 6:20, 11:45, and 4:55 or 6:35, 12:00, and 5:05). We're on the late schedule this week.
After dinner (by the way, the food is better here and there is more variety than at Hotel Utah) we had a zone meeting (the German-speaking missionaries are in Zone 5). Right before that meeting a couple of elders in my district helped me carry my luggage to the Warnick House. Sister Ricks showed me to our room that we share with Sisters Postma and Lewis.
After zone meeting, the new missionaries met again in the Knight-Mangum Hall for a testimony meeting. It was a special meeting with our brothers and sisters from the mission home.
Then we returned and had a short district meeting to get acquainted with those in our district - Celle District. I had to wait for a while for Sister Ricks to finish her evening classwork. Then we walked "home" (home for the next two months). With 20 sisters and two bathrooms, we have a very tight schedule. I signed up for a 9:50 bath schedule. It will be very interesting. I got enough things unpacked to get ready for bed. I looked in my packages from home and found a lovely letter and a copy of the blessing Daddy gave me last Saturday morning. I enjoyed talking with Ann (Schwester Larson) a bit while I'm still allowed to speak English. The Live-Your-Language Program is really inspired. I'm sure it's the fastest way to learn a language. Already I'm finding it difficult not to throw in a few German words or German word order as I write. I am so thrilled to be here and to have the opportunity to learn more German to prepare me for my mission.
